Skilltype Expands Academic Library Community in Southwest US

BATON ROUGE, LA – May 2, 2024 – Skilltype is pleased to announce the expansion of its partnership with AMIGOS Library Services to serve additional research libraries across the Southwest United States. University of Oklahoma Libraries, University of New Mexico Libraries, University of North Texas Libraries, and the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries, have each decided to opt-in to year two of the consortium’s Skilltype program. These additions mark Skilltype’s support for over twenty members of the Association of Research Libraries.

Staff at all levels across the libraries will receive access to skill insights based on the needs of their respective organizations, and trends within their respective job categories. Skilltype’s index of over 11,000 trainings will be used to provide personalized recommendations to each employee, while offering insights to managers and supervisors to help aid employee development.

Denise Stephens, Dean of Libraries at University of Oklahoma commented, “Skilltype will provide access to training for our employees and help us assess our workforce capabilities and needs.”

“The future of collaboration in libraries will go beyond resource sharing to human resource sharing,” commented Tony Zanders, founder and CEO of Skilltype. “AMIGOS is paving the way for libraries to more easily onboard to shared infrastructure for skills analysis and development across a network of libraries.”
