Bulk Upload Training Content Using a CSV

At Skilltype, we understand that managing a large number of training materials can be a complex task. That’s why we’ve introduced a bulk upload feature that allows organization admins to add multiple training items at once using a CSV file. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Download the CSV Template

Click here to download the CSV template. This template contains the necessary columns and format that you’ll need to follow

Step 2: Fill Out the CSV File

Open the downloaded CSV file in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Fill out the required columns with the details of the training content you want to add. Make sure to follow the instructions for each column, which are provided below.

Instructions for Filling Out the CSV File

Name: Enter the title of the training item. This is the name that will be displayed on the platform.

Media Type: Select the type of media for the training content. Choose one of the following options:

  • Document: Cloud-hosted PDF, Word Doc, or Google Doc
  • Audio: Podcast or other audio resource
  • Presentation: Poster, Slide Deck, PowerPoint Presentation
  • Video: YouTube, Vimeo, or other hosted video
  • Web Page: Web-based text article

Audience: Specify the target audience for the training content. Choose either “Public” or “Member.”

Item Type: Select the type of training item. Choose one of the following options:

  • Resource: General training material or resource
  • Event: Scheduled training event or webinar

Source: Enter the URL where the training content is hosted or can be accessed.

Publication Date: Enter the publication date of the training content or the start date of the event. Use the format MM/DD/YYYY.

End Date: Enter the end date of the event. If it’s a one-day event, use the same date as the start date. Use the format MM/DD/YYYY.

Tags: Add skill tags related to the training content. You can add multiple tags separated by commas or leave this field blank if no tags are applicable.

Access Type: Specify the access requirements for the training content. Choose one of the following options or leave blank:

  • Blank: No specific access requirements
  • Requires an Account: Users must have an account to access
  • Requires a Fee: Users must pay a fee to access
  • Provides a Certificate: Completion provides a certificate
  • Requires Registration: Users must register to access

Job Category: This field is not supported currently. Please leave it blank.

Organization: Enter the name of your organization.

More Info: Provide a brief description or abstract of the training content. As a result, this information will help users understand what the training covers.

Step 3: Save the CSV File

Once you’ve filled out the CSV file with the necessary information, save it to your computer. Make sure to keep the file in CSV format.

Step 4: Email the CSV File to Customer Success

Then, attach the filled-out CSV file to an email and send it to our Customer Success team at Also include a brief description of the content you’re adding and any specific instructions or requests.

Step 5: Confirmation and Upload

Our Customer Success team will review the CSV file and confirm the details with you. Once everything is verified, we will proceed to add the content to the platform. You’ll receive a confirmation email once the upload is complete.
