Johnny Boursiquot Becomes Skilltype’s Founding Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Experienced engineer, manager and now CTO will lead the next phase of Skilltype’s platform to prepare the global library community for 2030.

Baton Rouge, LA — Skilltype, the leading provider of professional development and talent management software for libraries and library professionals, proudly announces Johnny Boursiquot as the company’s Founding Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He will join Skilltype April 3rd, 2023 from Salesforce, where he currently serves as a lead platform engineer. Boursiquot brings more than two decades of experience in software engineering and leadership to the role. He previously served as a technical advisor to the Skilltype team since its launch in June of 2020.

A CTO Leading with Experience and Innovation

Johnny brings a wealth of experience in software development, technical leadership, and open-source contributions. As the Founding CTO, Johnny will be responsible for shaping Skilltype’s technology strategy, leading software development efforts, and driving innovation. This will ensure the company remains at the forefront of the industry. His extensive background in building and scaling software solutions will be instrumental in Skilltype’s growth and success.

Boursiquot’s Industry Involvement and Educational Background

Prior to Skilltype, Johnny demonstrated his technical expertise through various roles at Salesforce and the nonprofit organization Achievement Network (ANet). These roles included software engineering, architecture, and technical leadership.

Boursiquot is active in software development communities on the national level. He trains aspiring developers on the Go platform through O’Reilly Media and LinkedIn Learning and founded the local chapter of the Go community in Baltimore. He has also spoken at library industry conferences, including NISO and CNI, on issues related to data privacy in libraries.

Boursiquot earned both his Masters in Cloud Computing Architecture. He also holds his Bachelors in Computer and Information Science from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Please join us in welcoming Johnny Boursiquot to Skilltype and wishing him success in his new role.
